HAMPSHIRE, UK. September 6th, 2024 – One of the world’s leading children’s computing education franchises, ComputerXplorers, is undergoing an exciting relaunch in the United States (US).

ComputerXplorers offers children aged three to 16 years a range of fun, interactive classes – through school lessons, after school clubs and holiday camps – to introduce them to a variety of exciting new technologies and platforms and prepare them for a digitally-driven future.

While the brand was initially established in the US in 1984, Stuart Harley, current CEO of ComputerXplorers, took over leadership in 2021, having first joined the business as a franchisee for Southampton, UK, in 2019.

The brand has grown rapidly in the UK, thanks to its unique turnkey business model, generous start-up support package and a clear ambition to bring high quality computing education to all children.

Since 2021, the UK franchise has experienced a 300% increase in turnover, with the number of franchisees having grown from 12 to 32, and the brand expanding internationally into four countries, with more poised to join this year.

Now, with its growing success and popularity, Stuart has taken the decision to relaunch ComputerXplorers in the US, aiming to repeat the great success he has had with the brand in the UK market.

The US relaunch begins with ComputerXplorer’s attendance at the two-day Franchise Expo South 2024 at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Centre in Florida. The team will be on Stand 216 to talk all things ComputerXplorers and the wealth of opportunities on offer.

Stuart comments: “With demand for children’s technology education exploding, we are incredibly excited to be relaunching ComputerXplorers in the US. We have a wealth of opportunities on offer for those looking to join us on this new journey, from area developers and multi-unit franchise operators to single unit franchisees.

“Those who come aboard with us can benefit from our highly successful start-up business model – as used in our UK market, and can look forward to being part of our highly innovative and supportive global network of franchisees, all whilst having the ability to manage your own business in a way that allows you a great work / life balance with a great income.”

Since taking over ComputerXplorers, Stuart has now expanded his work in franchising, setting up multi-brand franchise operator, XplorerGroup, in 2023 – with ComputerXplorers named as its original brand acquisition within its growing collection of innovative and popular brands.

For more information about the exciting opportunities available with ComputerXplorers, visit Stand 216 at the Franchise Expo South 2024 or visit https://computerxplorers.co.uk/international-opportunities/

LONDON, UK, December 19th, 2023 – At London’s House of Lords, the AI Advancement Forum commenced with the University of Surrey’s Vice President (Global) Patrick Degg proclaiming, ‘AI can, and inescapably will, change the educational landscape.’ This set the stage for a day where global educational leaders explored the synergy between education and AI, culminating in the unveiling of KEATH.ai, a groundbreaking EdTech tool; where its CEO, Joey Lin, proclaimed, “Last December, students got ChatGPT; this December, teachers get KEATH.ai”.

Lin also likened generative AI’s impact on education to the shift from horses to cars, with multiple universities piloting their technology and driving further data collection.

“This (2023) is the year of AI,” added Surrey’s President and Vice Chancellor Max Lu. “How are we going to push ourselves to measure, assessment and learning at a higher level?” Alluding to KEATH.ai’s launch, he asked the audience of global educational organisations. The forum featured panels of esteemed speakers from academia, and both the private and public sector, as well as prominent attendees representing multiple universities, from Oxford University to Columbia University; and embassy officials spanning several continents, from Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

Wowing a captivated audience, KEATH CEO Joey Lin, formally introduced KEATH.ai as a groundbreaking AI tool in educational assessment evaluation software. After years of research and development, KEATH.ai’s software guarantees consistent and precise student feedback, unilaterally saving teachers’ time. Its proprietary technology ensures a high degree of accuracy of approximately 95%, which can be achieved when compared to human markers. Surrey’s Associate Vice President and KEATH’s Managing Director, Professor Yu Xiong, elaborated that KEATH’s technology “will not replace humans, but act as a copilot, a digital assistant”.

BBC’s Executive Product Manager, Jon Howard, hypothesised what the future of education may look like: “Adaptive technologies, adapting the content to things that you like… auto(matic)-grading is a big part of that.”

Keath.ai’s innovation received positive feedback from attending experts, including renowned UK education advisor, Dr. Trevor Lee, who remarked on KEATH.ai’s exceptional ease of use: “Teachers face immense personal pressure caused by marking overload, much of which amounts to many, many unpaid hours for work conducted at evenings and weekends. I estimate that 500 hours per year can realistically save many teachers’ time, by the judicious use of KEATH.ai, without compromising any quality.”

The Lord Taylor of Warwick spoke positively about the new era of AI; and about bridging the gap between the “have nots” and “have yachts”, and also mentioned Elon Musk’s AI alarmism, cautiously preferring to adopt a ‘glass half full’ ideology. Lord Taylor emphasised the importance of ensuring that AI’s power is democratised, saying: “This is imperative for the education sector, which has arguably been affected by social factors since its inception.”

De Montfort University’s Vice-Chancellor, Katie Normington stated AI must be embraced to go forward, but change is inevitable in this sector and assessment must adapt in a reflective tandem. Michael Luck, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Sussex, discussed the fear and excitement surrounding AI, with recent advancements in deep learning allowing for significant progress. He also reinforced the need for responsible governance.

As the AI Advancement Forum concluded, the spotlight was firmly on KEATH.ai, recognised for its potential to revolutionise the educational landscape.

  • Fiction or reality? Over half of US respondents believe TV shows depict an accurate portrayal of jobs and careers
  •  Role models on and off the screen – More than 60% of US respondents view fictional TV characters as role models
  •  An obsession with crime – 39% of the US still love to watch law enforcement and murder detectives in action. They were considered the most entertaining careers to watch
  •  Progress still to be made – More than 70% of the US would like to see greater diversity in job roles depicted in fictional TV shows
Career advisors beware, as more of us are making career choices based on the television shows we are watching, the latest research has found.

Business support platform, Rovva has published its latest research which shows that more than 60% of US respondents consider fictional TV characters as role models. However, it is not just the sentiment regarding role models influencing viewers, as more than half of US respondents believe fictional shows depict an accurate portrayal of jobs and careers as well.

In the US, the prospect of a career in law enforcement influenced 15% of respondents’ choices, thanks to viewing habits – the highest amongst all industries.

These findings demonstrate that shows such as Chicago P.D, Lethal Weapon and NCIS resonate strongly with American viewers in terms of influencing future career decisions.

Arguably one of the more surprising findings is that just 8% of US respondents considered influencers as their most entertaining industry to watch. With the rapid rise of influencers over the past decade, we would have expected a more positive response given the internet-born industry. That said, nearly three quarters (71%) of Americans want to see greater diversity when it comes to character portrayal across the small screen.

Nevertheless, almost half (45%) of US respondents remained true to their teenage ambitions by pursuing careers in which fictional TV shows had some form of influence on them before the age of 16. With people spending more time watching and being influenced by television, can we expect this number to rise in the coming years?

Managing Director at Rovva, Jon Abrahams, said; “What our latest research reveals is that people are still heavily influenced by what they see on the TV – even if it’s fictional. We think it’s just young kids who dream of being a policeman, the next Jack Bauer or top doctor – but it isn’t.

“We often regard TV as something that people engage with to fill the time, or to sit around and do between work and sleep – but it is actually shown to be a resource people are engaging with to make important life-decisions.

With the undeniable influence production houses have on us as a nation, perhaps diversification (which the people have said they want) in what roles are depicted, could be the most effective way of filling shortages in certain sectors”.

CALIFORNIA, US February 22, 2023 – Network signs exclusive deals with Sleep Tight Media, What If World, and Tumble Science Podcast for Kids

“Content for kids is a natural fit for Airwave,” says Ben Mathis, Head of Content for Airwave. “We believe in the power of podcasts to make us better, smarter human beings, and that starts when listeners are young. Parents who listen to our podcasts that educate and inspire want the same things for their children.”
